Privacy Policy
Brilliant Patterns Co. Last updated: 8/7/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Brilliant Patterns Co. (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you purchase or use our products, including the Personal Pattern Blueprint, Career Pattern Blueprint, and Career Strategy Blueprint (collectively, the “Services”).
By purchasing or using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Information We Collect
Purchase information. When you buy an assessment through our website, WooCommerce and our payment processor Stripe collect your email address, order details, and payment information. We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details.
Assessment responses. When you complete an intake assessment through our web app, we collect the information you provide, which may include details about your career history, personal goals, relationships, health and wellness patterns, barriers, and other information you choose to share in your own words. We instruct users not to include sensitive personal information (such as medical details, financial account numbers, or other highly sensitive data) in their responses. However, because responses are open-ended, some personal or sensitive information may still be shared, and this policy applies to any information you do provide.
Contact information. We collect the email address used for your purchase, and, if provided, an alternate email to send your report to and the name you’d like to appear on your report.
Newsletter information. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and any other information you provide at signup) through MailPoet.
License key and account activity. We generate and track a unique license key tied to your purchase, along with timestamps for when you started and completed your assessment, to verify your purchase and manage report delivery.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Generate your personalized report, including analysis and strategy recommendations
- Verify your license key and purchase eligibility
- Deliver your report via email
- Provide customer support if you contact us
- Send newsletter communications, if you’ve subscribed
- Improve our Services (for example, understanding common themes across assessments so we can improve report quality)
- Conduct aggregated, internal research on assessment responses to identify patterns and improve our methodology, frameworks, and future products. We may also publish or share aggregated, de-identified insights — for example, patterns we observe across nonprofit organizations — publicly or with organizations in our sector, to support the broader community we serve. When we use responses this way, we work with them in aggregate rather than in ways that single you out individually.
Use of AI. Your assessment responses are processed using a third-party AI service (Anthropic’s Claude) to help generate the analysis and personalized strategies in your report. Your responses are sent to this service for the purpose of generating your report. Anthropic retains this data for up to 30 days as part of their standard processing.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your assessment responses for advertising or marketing to third parties.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Information
- Your assessment responses are stored in our secure database (Supabase) while your report is generated and for a limited period afterward.
- We retain your assessment responses for up to 60 days to allow us to review and improve our reports and Services, including conducting aggregated research on patterns across responses, after which they are permanently deleted from our systems. Aggregated research insights derived from your responses before deletion — including any we publish or share, such as patterns across nonprofit organizations — do not include your individual responses in identifiable form and may be retained indefinitely.
- Anthropic (our AI processing provider) retains data submitted to generate your report for up to 30 days under their own data retention practices.
- Purchase records (email, order details, license key, product purchased) are retained separately from your assessment responses, for order verification, refund handling, tax/accounting purposes, and customer support.
- Newsletter subscriber information is retained by MailPoet until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Who We Share Information With
We share limited information with the following third parties, only as needed to operate our Services:
- WooCommerce / Stripe — processes your purchase and payment information.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your assessment responses to generate your personalized report; retains this data for up to 30 days.
- Supabase — stores your assessment data and account information securely.
- Google (Gmail) — used to send your personalized report to you by email.
- MailPoet — manages newsletter subscriptions and email delivery, if you’ve opted in.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information under the new ownership.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Report delivery: You can request your report be sent to a different email address than your purchase email (for example, if gifting an assessment).
- Data deletion: Your assessment responses are automatically deleted after 60 days. If you’d like your data deleted sooner, contact us at hello@brilliantpatterns.co.
- Newsletter: You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
- Access and correction: You can contact us to ask what information we have on file connected to your license key, purchase email, or newsletter subscription.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of certain data processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Educational Purpose Disclaimer
Our Services, including all reports and recommendations, are provided for educational and informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional career counseling, therapy, financial advice, or medical/psychological care.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
